Not a Podcast, Sorry But I DID want to talk to you

Hi Friends,
I just wanted to say hello to you.  As I have mentioned before, I have been sick.
(for far too long)   Well, I am here to tell you that I am SICK of being sick!
It is completely "over rated".   But I am better than I was last week this time, and MUCH better than the week before THAT... so good days are ahead.    ( To those who feel sorry for me, please send all your "poor babies" to: dearlanadee@gmail.com )

So what do YOU do when you are sick?   Watch TV?  Not me, well, not for long.  I play on my computer.  Like I ALWAYS DO. ha

This time I visited a few web sites that I hadn't spent time on before, to break the boredom.  youtube, for one.  You can find all types of fun videos to watch, as well as some very serious, and also those in extremely poor taste.   Let me tell you, that place is NOT for the faint hearted.

I left a comment or two with regard to a couple of videos I saw.  One was about partial birth abortion.  As I mentioned to you in an earlier podcast, it breaks my heart to know that America has become so hard hearted that not only do we murder unborn babies, but do so in a way that I consider nothing short of torture to to the child.

Did you know that a babies nervous system is developed in the third month? http://www.nrlc.org/abortion/facts/fetaldevelopment.html
Yet babies are aborted via partial birth MUCH later than that.  So I KNOW it hurts.

But I didn't say ANY of that. I simply commented about believing that I FELT that partial birth abortion was cruel.  And that a woman needs to consider her "choice" PRIOR to becoming pregnant.     THAT comment was met with a personal email telling me to "blank blank" and "blank".  ( comment not suitable for family viewing).  I guess I wasn't allowed to state MY opinion.

The  OTHER youtube video I watched was about Sarah Palin, the Republican candidate for Vice President.  Now  here is a woman who in my opinion, is intelligent, successful and someone that I admire.  Why, look what she has achieved!  She is a mother of five children, and Governor of Alaska.  And now the running mate of John McCain.

Let me tell you.  I wouldn't want to be HER for anything!  Just look at the way she is being treated!  All in the name of politics.  The press is acting like a pack of wolves, in their attempt to dig up "dirt" on her. Yet, they say NOTHING about the short comings of the candidates connected with the other political party. Could it be they are trying to MAKE news, instead of reporting it?  Well, at least they want to have a hand in choosing the next President. hmmmm  I have yet to hear ONE reporter treat Sarah with any respect.  And the press wonders why they are kept six blocks away from her.
"H E L L O"!  Wake up and smell the coffee.

The comments on the video  about Sarah that I watched were hateful, and frightening.  I posted a "positive" comment. ( not that I actually think Sarah would view my  youtube comment)  And immediately I was sent a very nasty email, telling me JUST what this guy thought of me.  He told me that I made him "puke", just like SHE did.

I wrote him back!  ( are you surprised? ha)  And I asked him WHY he attacked me.  I hadn't addressed HIM personally.  I told him we all were entitled to our opinions, and told him to have a nice evening.  He wrote back and  told me he was  RIGHT...and then told me to have a nice evening as well, ha

What is wrong with people today?  How can they be so unkind, so rude, so mean to people they don't even know?  Well, I THINK I know what is wrong with some.  It is the anonymity that posting comments  on a website provides.  People can sign in, OR NOT, and say what EVER they feel like, no matter how hurtful, hateful or untrue.  And then leave, without anyone REALLY knowing who they are.

It reminds me of the  Mardi gras, in New Orleans.  People go there, wear masks, and do things they would NEVER do, if people were to know who they were.  I guess this is what happens when people act without conscience or concern for one another.

I for one, am deeply saddened and concerned about the way people treat one another.
And I hope that YOU feel the same.

Well, I have chatted long enough.     I hope that you are well.   I hope that you are happy!    Until next time I remain,
Your friend,
lanadee
